I am in MONTANA, my destination for my adventure. Drove from Rapid City, SD, thru the north east corner of Wyoming, into Montana. When I found a place to exit the road, I did. The photos do not do justice to the vast landscape that is MONTANA. It is difficult to know what distance one can see, but I would say that the top of the hills is at least 10-12 miles. One can see for ever. In the foreground that is a field of large baled rolls of straw. More about the bales later.
The roads in Montana are good, straight and the speed limited to 65 mph and you just do not see many cars or trucks. I would not see an oncoming vehicle for up to 5 minutes.

More of the vast distance that one can see. Also, you very seldom see any houses or barns. Every 5-10 miles you will see a mail box or a road that goes off to the distance, but no houses.

I know that I am looking at least 3 miles of road here in the distance. I am standing by my car and I can see a speck on the road that becomes a car. It perfectly quiet. I could hear my footsteps in the dirt.

More of the same.

More road going for ever.

This is a bale of straw. They grow a lot of wheat in Montana. The fields look to be 100acres or more. As they harvest the wheat, they bale the straw. The fields will have hundreds of these bales. I did see one field that was being harvested. I was told that they feed this to the cattle as a filler, because straw has no nutritional value. They also sell some of these bales to other states. They also grow sugar beets, saw several fields. They have some soy beans and very little corn. That is my agriculture report for Montana.

And me again, in the field in front of one of the bales.
Okay. the next stop is to visit the famous GREASY GRASS battle ground! THE WHAT????
Come on, I will show you and tell you all you want to know about this............
