Still in North Platte, Nebraska at the home of William F. 'BUFFALO BILL' Cody. This is a 17 room mansion, of the Second Empire style. The cost $3900.00 in 1886. The House set on 4000 acres. It is now part of 25 acre track of land belonging to the Nebraska State Park System. Cody named it 'SCOUT'S REST RANCH'. At one time Cody worked for the Kansas Pacific Railroad. His job was to kill buffalo to feed the workers. In an 18 month span, Cody killed 4,280 buffalo, thus the nickname BUFFALO BILL. Cody staged the first 4th of July celebration for North Platte and a rodeo was part of the show. Therefore, Cody started the first ever rodeo and this became his WILD WEST SHOW. Cody and his wife, Louisa Maude Frederici, had 4 Children.

There were 2 barns built on the property. This is the horse barn. The cattle barn burned down during a prairie fire in 1904.
