When I decided that I was going to make this road trip, I started a list of items that I should take on the trip. I did this on my computer. I can add to the list when I thought of another item that I should have.
I decided that this would be a 3 week trip/21 days. I set a budget of $300 dollars per day, total $6300 dollars for trip. This $300 dollars would purchase my gas, my motel stay, my meals and other items that I might need or forgot to bring. I will keep a list of what I spend each day. Doing this I may discover that $300 dollars a day was to much or to little to budget.
The reason for this trip is that I want to experience places where there are not many people, no crowds, small towns and communities, open country side. I have driven to Montana in the past and the one thing that impressed on the drive was open highways with no traffic, maybe a vehicle every 5-10 miles. Open spaces. But when you have open spaces, less people, small towns, you have to make sure you can find gas, motels and meals. One has to plan carefully from town to town, each day.
The area that I live , Louisville, Kentucky Metropolitan Area, has a population that is greater that the population of the State of MONTANA. There should be lots of open spacious in the BIG SKY country.
The beginning of the road trip is a few weeks away. I plan, when I hit the road, to post photos and comments of my trip. Come along with me on this adventure......
